The EQUAL Initiative: Transnational Co-operation
EQUAL is based on the principle of transnational co-operation. The experience gained under the Community Initiatives EMPLOYMENT and ADAPT shows that transnationality can bring significant added value and policy innovation.
All Development Partnerships must have at least one formal partner in another Member State. In most cases this will be another EQUAL funded partnership, preferably one working in the same thematic field. Development Partnerships will also engage in networking activity with a wider range of partners operating in the same thematic field.
In addition, transnational co-operation may be extended to activities supported in a non-member State eligible for funding under the PHARE, TACIS or MEDA Programmes.
